So maybe you folks can help me figure this out. With web comics currently in the "Other Category" I'm having trouble finding art projects to nominate. What exactly qualifies something as a crowdfunded art project? In a way that, say, a painting that's sold to someone online isn't? Can you give me some examples? Because right now, by the rules we have, someone who paints something, sells the original to a buyer through the internet and then makes a scan available is technically elgible, but I don't think that's exactly what we're aiming for.

I've seen several people posting sketches with a donation button to fund the scanning of additional sketches. I know I've seen at least three or four different people doing this, and now I can't find them and it's driving me nuts.

Also, I nominated you for this category because you have done community brush-funding drives and you often use audience input to choose which sketches to finish. Even your sales tend to have interactive aspects, like the guessing games and the discounts to people who post comments.

*nods* chlorophyta was doing a "pay to scan sketches" thing but that was in 2007. I'm looking for more things like that, where people finish a picture based on donations or make more pictures available for viewing based on audience participation/interest but... not seeing much of that outside web comics.

Are other types of art represented in this category, like jewelry?

Yes, that counts! Unfortunately the crowdfunded jewelry I've seen was truly Other Project material, as it was mixed with fiction and such. But I keep looking.
